Electrolysis
An electric current is applied with a very fine, disposable needle electrode into each hair follicle to destroy the root. Hair grows in different stages: growing, resting, and shedding. As all hair isn’t at the same stage at any given time, multiple sessions are needed. Hair that is in its growth phase is best for electrolysis hair removal to be most effective. Sessions are two to four weeks apart. No other hair removal methods should be used between sessions, for maximum effect. This treatment is a classic treatment for a few hairs that grow abruptly on the face that are taken over by laser treatment.
Waxing
A form of semi-permanent hair removal which removes the hair from the root. New hair will normally not grow back in the previously waxed area for 4 to 6 weeks. Almost any area of the body can be waxed, including eyebrows, face, pubic area, legs, arms, back, abdomen and feet. Strip waxing (soft wax) is accomplished by spreading a wax, thinly over the skin. A paper strip is applied and pressed firmly, adhering the strip to the wax, and the wax to the skin. The strip is then quickly ripped off against the direction of hair growth, as parallel as possible to the skin to avoid trauma to the skin (i.e, bruising, broken capillaries, ingrown hairs caused by hair follicle trauma and lifting of skin). This removes the wax along with the hair.
